Protek’s KQ Tear Tape Applicator is designed to apply narrow tear strips to packaging materials, creating an opening feature as part of a suitable pack design. It provides an application option for cartons, paper bags and mailing envelopes that require a positioned tear strip.

The applicator feeds and places the tape during production. Installation on compatible folder gluers or packaging machines allows the tear-strip application stage to be incorporated into the manufacturing process. The selected tape and its position need to suit the material and the intended opening action.

The supplied specification lists tape-width configurations of 3–10mm and 3–15mm, application lengths of 50–9,000mm and a speed range of 5–100m/min. Protek can help review the tape specification, pack samples and machine layout to establish a suitable configuration for your production requirements.
